Who Are We?
Perspectives Photography is the vision of award winning husband & wife photography team Isaac & Amber de Reus.
We are primarily wedding photographers, and portraiture follows naturally from this – we love to work with people, and love the challenge of capturing the essence of a person in an image.
We are based in Hamilton, but can travel to Auckland, Raglan, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Coromandel, and anywhere within the greater Waikato area.
We are available for family portraits, engagement sessions, and individual portraits – including senior portraits. We also shoot lifestyle portraits, sportsperson portfolios for sponsors, and corporate portraits (see our commercial section for those).
Perspectives Photography – a unique point of view.
Different Portrait Options
We have photographed families, babies, children, high school students, sports, couples – anything goes!
Family portraits are a great way to create art for your home that features your family. We approach a family portrait session like a fashion shoot – finding dramatic and interesting locations that really enhance the photo.
Senior portraits are an area we really enjoy – working with teenagers in their "senior" year at high school or university. A senior portrait session is a great way to celebrate their "coming of age" and a beautiful memoir of this stage of their life.
We have a collection of all our work in our image galleries – take the time to browse through and enjoy the shots.
Whatever you want photos of, we’d love to collaborate with you!
The Recipe
Previsualisation – finding the best location & light.
Posing – Making people look natural, and look good.
Connection – relaxing people in front of the camera, getting to know them, drawing out their natural humour, not a forced smile.
Click. Click. Bad joke. Laugh. Click.
Home. Upload images. We’re only halfway there.
Computer, colour, levels, tones, details. Relooking. Starting again from scratch with a totally different effect. Repeat multiple times. Finishing to perfection. Printing to perfection.
These are the ingredients that go into producing a piece of art.
Less than that, it’s just a picture.
